Ironman Ohio 70.3 finish picture family

My inspiration…

My amazing wife and 2 energetic kids.

Hello, my name is Kale Bushmeyer. I spent most of my years growing up as a coached athlete playing soccer since I was 5. I received an athletic scholarship to play soccer at an NCAA Division II school (West Virginia Wesleyan College) where I started as a freshman and helped lead our team to multiple conference championships and NCAA berths. As my natural leadership grew throughout my years at Wesleyan, I was also voted a team captain by my teammates entering my senior year. I think all those years of team sports has taught me so much about what it takes to be a disciplined & successful athlete.

I have been an endurance athlete for going on 9 years. However, I have been a cyclist for 20+ years, and that is what bridged me into triathlon. I did my first Sprint Triathlon (The Wendy’s Triathlon) back in 2009 at Alum Creek State Park. I truly enjoyed the race, but at that time I had no idea what I was doing. After that, my wife and I had our two beautiful children and I got very active in auto racing for a few years. Eventually, I found my way back to triathlon. Fast-forward to 2015, and I had signed up for my 2nd Sprint, my first Olympic, and my first Ironman 70.3 triathlon all in 2016! That’s where this journey truly began.

After that first full year of triathlon in 2016, I was hooked, and I haven’t looked back. I have attempted and completed at least one Iron-distance event per year consecutively since 2016, and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.

I slowly have become ingrained in the Triathlon community, here in Central Ohio, and have developed some wonderful friendships along the way.

My passion has grown to a point where I am ready to continue to grow and I want to share all I have learned within this amazing sport. I plan to continue making myself a better athlete, and now I want to help others become better athletes too by mentoring and coaching.

Nothing can describe that feeling when you come across the finish of a multisport event, especially an Iron-distance race! It is truly something you have to experience for yourself.

That’s where I come in!

I want to help you achieve your next finish line. Although I specialize in Iron-distance events, I would be honored to coach you through any event, including Sprint, Olympic, or any other distance race. I am confident that I can help you achieve that dream or goal that you have for yourself.

So, are you ready?

I’m an Ironman Certified Coach through the Ironman University and I am also a TrainingPeaks Level 1 Coach. I also qualified in my 2023 season a Bronze Level Ironman All-World Athlete (AWA). I plan to continue my education through other accreditations, so I can be the best coach possible for all of my athletes.
